The K̓wsaltktnéws ne Secwepemcúl’ecw SD83 is a widely dispersed district which includes the five major communities of Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Sorrento, Enderby, and Armstrong.

The District provides educational support for 6,200 K-12 students in twenty-two schools with a professional and support staff of more than 800 employees.

SD83 is known for its strong academic achievement, thriving trades and careers program, French Immersion, and a rich cultures of school athletics.  The school district also enjoys comprehensive Local Education Agreements with four First Nations Bands.

The District offers a variety of grade configurations in its fifteen elementary, three middle, and five secondary schools. The Board of Education recently approved an Outdoor Learning School which opened in September 2018.

SD83 has a comprehensive career exploration and preparation program along with a strong apprenticeship program, Education Outreach and Distance Learning.

In 2023, the District completed work on its' new Strategic Plan. The District Strategic Plan 2023-2028 will guide the District’s priorities, goals, initiatives, and financial stewardship over the next few years.
